James, Here’s a quote from a book titled “Integrity” that I’d like to share. The quote and the book. 😉
“People who have never really faced their own misdeeds, owned their mistakes towards others, received forgiveness and made amends, rarely have forgiveness for others.”
– Integrity: The Courage to Meet the Demands of Reality by Henry Cloud

I like that quote. I see forgiveness as one side of a coin. The other side is amends. When we hold hands at the end of a meeting and say the Lord’s Prayer, I always stress the word “AS”, as if it were bolded, underlined and in italics. “Forgive us our trespasses AS we forgive those who trespass against us.” Thanks for the blurb Phillip. Love ya!

Yes, nice. That reminds me of something I tell to many sponsees and other in the program when asked about dating others. My opinion is that there is one personality trait that anyone you are considering entering into a serious relationship must have, and that’s the ability to admit their wrongs and take responsibility by making amends and attempting to change. If it’s discovered that they are not ever admitting when they are wrong, I suggest the following: RUN!!!!!!
