Change can be exciting—but it can also be uncomfortable, frightening, and overwhelming. Even when we know a change may ultimately be good for us, our first instinct can be to resist it, worry about it, or wish things would just stay the way they are.

So how do we get from resisting change to accepting it—and maybe even embracing it?

In this episode of The Perceptual Shift Show, James and Robbie explore practical strategies for accepting change. Going with the flow when life changes requires both a shift in mindset and some actionable steps. The good news is there are tools we can use to make those transitions feel more manageable.

They talk about breaking big changes into smaller steps, staying present instead of becoming consumed by what might happen next, setting intentions, finding support, spending time in nature, and remembering to celebrate the progress we make along the way.

But knowing the tools and actually using them are two different things.

James and Robbie share some of their own experiences with change—including the time Robbie thought James was crazy for building a model of a house when he had no money to build it, what their father taught them about God and love, and Robbie’s unlikely journey from stealing cars and getting high to becoming willing to learn, grow and change.

Change is scary… it pushes me outside my comfort zone, but… I grow like crazy.” — Rob

Maybe accepting change doesn’t mean we have to like everything that’s happening. It means learning how to stop fighting reality long enough to ask: What can I do with this? What can I learn from it? And how can I use it to create more abundance?

Because most of the time, the changes that frighten us the most are the ones that actually change our life… for the better.
