Sometimes life gives us exactly what we didn’t want.
A health problem. A relationship ending. A financial setback. A career change. In the moment, it can be hard to imagine that anything good could possibly come from it.
In this episode of The Perceptual Shift Show, James and Robbie explore what happens when we become willing to look beyond the disappointment and ask a different question: What good could come from this?
Using stories of people who rebuilt their lives after loss, setbacks, and unexpected change, James and Robbie look at how difficult experiences can sometimes lead us somewhere we never would have chosen—but may ultimately be grateful to have found.
That doesn’t mean pretending something painful isn’t painful. We’re human. We can be disappointed, frightened, angry, or even spend a little time on the “pity pot.”
The perceptual shift comes when we become willing to get back up, look for the silver linings—even in the darker parts of life—and remain open to what might come next.
Because loving your life doesn’t mean loving every moment of it.
It means knowing that even in the moments you don’t like, your life can still be worth loving.
“Let’s go for two scoops of life, love and peace.” — Robbie
